The Challenges Facing Irish-Medium Primary and Post-Primary Schools When Implementing a Whole-School Approach to Meeting the Additional Education Needs of Their Students

The literature states the importance of adopting a whole-school approach to inclusion and for meeting needs all students. This study investigated challenges faced by Irish-medium (IM) primary post-primary schools in relation providing inclusion. was achieved through mixed methods where stratified sample teachers from IM (N = 56) undertook an anonymous online survey first stage. In second stage, 31) semi-structured individual interviews provide in-depth information regarding data collected survey. findings suggest that like immersion internationally, need more resources medium Irish assessment, evidence-based interventions, teaching/learning resources.
